Students at Marquette Senior High School are trying to create more green space at the school. The high school's courtyard consists mostly of deteriorating concrete, with a small number of trees and other plants. With the assistance of Closner Construction of Marquette, School Board President Tony Retaskie, faculty adviser, Karen Bacula, and representatives from MSHS's Environmental Club, the courtyard renovation project is in full swing. The project will remove concrete, allow for more plant life with the hope that the courtyard will become more enticing for student use.
