On Decenber 19, 2011, Board President Tony Retaskie and Trustee Mark Smith were recognized for their years of service to Marquette Area Public School Board of Education Tony Retaskie served on the board from 2002-2006 and from 2008-2011. Mark Smith has served on the board since 2003. Both board members received a Level 2 Award of Merit from the Michigan Association of School Boards. A reception was held in their honor.
