Happy November!
I love November because it is a month that focuses on being “thankful”! We have much to be thankful for here at Cherry Creek. It has been a busy Fall with many exciting learning opportunities!
Students continue to work hard in all the academic areas: Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies. As a building we have set goals in all of these areas and focus our professional learning on how to improve instruction to meet the needs of all students. Third and fourth graders once again have successfully completed the MEAP state assessments.
We have had a special focus on writing this year. Each student, grades K-4, has their own special writing journal. We had a fun, Fall kick off to writing in the gym where we all, staff and students alike, wrote about what life would be like in a pumpkin house!
Our CCSA has been busy as well! They have planned several exciting student activities such as: Caps for Caring (Thursdays), Fun Run, Movie Night, popcorn, RADA fundraiser, just to name a few! The CCSA is an active group that supports our instruction. Please come to a meeting; they are held the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Cherry Creek Library.
As we head into the holiday season, I hope all of you take some time for friends and family! Have a great season and thank you for giving us the gift of working with your children.
Sincerely,
Tamra Bott, Principal
