About Us

The Vandenboom Child Development Center is home to two Marquette Area Public School programs designed to promote early childhood development.  Both the Extended Day Kindergarten (EDK) program as well as the Developmental Kindergarten (DK) program offer an excellent balance of early academic opportunities with an emphasis on literacy as well as age appropriate social development.  Overall, students who participated in either EDK or DK in 2009/2010 demonstrated at benchmark or close to benchmark skills on Fall 2010/2011 literacy screening.  Parents and teachers alike have expressed support of these early childhood development programs.
