BMS National Junior Honor Society

Advisor: Mrs. Paula Diedrich pdiedrich@mapsnet.org

The Bothwell Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society stresses the importance not only of academics, but also service.  As the advisor, Mrs. Diedrich strives to provide a variety of service projects for the members to complete.  These include helping with Bothwell events, providing support at MAPS elementary schools, and volunteering for community events such as the UP200 and Noquemanon Ski Race.

The BMS NJHS is a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.   For more information about the National Organization visit http://www.nhs.us/NJHS.aspx.  The handbook explains the bylaws and the general guidelines for student selection.  The BMS Chapter's selection process is explained on the downloadable document on this webpage.

 Service Projects Minimize

All current NJHS members are required to complete 4 service projects.  Numerous projects are arranged for our society.  If you do service projects outside of the NJHS ones, you will still need to complete 4 projects for NJHS.   Think of it this way: If you join the Lions and the Kiwanis, you don't go to a Lions meeting and tell them all you've done for the Kiwanis and expect to get credit.
