Learning Center

MSHS Learning Center is a class for students to get help with homework from older mentoring students. Juniors and Seniors are mentors to the freshman and sophomores.

Each day there is a short activity and discussion at the beginning of class covering topics such as study skills, self-awareness, conflict resolution, etc. Those students who have Learning Center are expected to bring materials each day to work on for the hour. There are daily “work” points given along with the points for the activity logs students fill out each day. A student receives a Pass/Fail grade and must achieve at least 70% of the points to pass.

Students serving as mentors are given regular letter grades A-E according to how well they model appropriate behavior and help others in the class. Click here for a link to the main Learning Center webpage that lists activities each week.
