Apply for colleges and other post-secondary education and training admission early.

It is always best to apply for colleges early in the fall. For the best opportunities, college applications should be in by November 1st..

Prioritize and narrow down your choices. This will save you time and allow you to focus on obtaining admission to the institutions that best meet your needs.

Visiting the institution's campus is the best way to get a feel for a place where someone plans to spend four or more years of their life.

Before putting gas in the car, visit their web site and call their admissions office to arrange departmental meetings and on-campus tours. A tremendous amount of information on, hundreds of educational institutions, is available via the world wide web. The most up-to-date information is readily available for those students and parents that have Internet access.

Use our College and University Information link page to easily access the home pages of most of the colleges in the United States.

Obtaining applications directly from the institution is one way to get additional brochures and information. Phone calls, e-mail inquiries, and other written requests usually bring manila envelopes full of brochures to your mailbox.

Your guidance department also has a variety of applications in limited numbers that are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Everyone in our office can answer questions about applying for post secondary education, meeting with recruiters and taking advantage of special testing and programs. Sign up for an appointment with your counselor if you need further assistance with matching your interests with your abilities and making decisions and plans.

- Transcripts cost $2.00 each and a signed record release needs to be on file.

Fill in and return all applications to the MSHS Guidance Office before November 1, if possible.

You do not have to decide where you are going until May, but you must apply now!

All applications must be turned in at least two weeks before they are due.
