Dear MAPS Families,
The Michigan School Meals program will continue into school year 2024-2025. What this means is that breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to the family. The Michigan School Meals program provides funding for a complete breakfast and lunch, but it does not cover the cost of ala cart items. Ala Cart items, are items that are purchased stand alone. The most common ala cart item is a carton of milk. Milk will cost .85 cents per carton when purchased ala cart.
Please keep in mind as we begin the school year that we do provide breakfast at school. Breakfast will be served in your school’s cafeteria.
MAPS schools receive additional funding from approved free/reduced food service applications. This year’s application is called nutrition and education benefits form. The applications can be picked up at your schools open house. Please take a moment to review the income guidelines. We also have them in the food service tab at mapsnet.org.
One last small note, your school’s menus are posted at mapsnet.nutrislice.com, or you can visit the lunch menu tab at mapsnet.org. We are looking forward to another exciting school year. Please contact me with any questions at,
[email protected] or 906-225-4245.
Sincerely,
Chris Collins, Food Service Director
