Here Comes the Bus AppDear MAPS Transportation Family,

MAPS is excited to announce the use of Here Comes the Bus (HCTB)!  HCTB is a mobile app and website that delivers real-time school bus arrival and departure notifications to parents via mobile push and email notifications.  Notifications are sent when the bus is nearby, practically  eliminating the wait times at the bus stop.  No standing outside for extended periods of time in inclement weather.  In addition, with the new scanning feature, it will also tell you (and us), when/where your student scans on/off the bus.  Parents have peace of mind knowing their student is safe and will get on the right bus, at the right stop, at the right time.  HCTB is trusted by more than 2 million registered users.

Students riding the bus will be issued a boarding card provided by MAPS.  For student safety, cards were printed without student photo, grade or school information.  PLEASE KEEP THIS CARD!   It remains active throughout your student’s academic career.  Students should carry this card with them (attached to their backpacks with a strap loop also issued by MAPS), or, if the student has a cell phone, utilize the Bus Pass barcode within the HCTB mobile app.  Students with the HCTB mobile app also receive notifications of when the bus is in close proximity to their primary pick up location.

Students will not be denied a bus ride to or from school without their card, but our goal is to have all  students using their cards for student tracking.

Please note, for students using multiple stops, HCTB will only track ONE ADDRESS.   All parents/guardians with students assigned to MAPS busing are able to set up a HCTB mobile or website account for their student.  The account will allow them to see when/where the student scans on/off the bus.  This feature is available regardless of the primary address, however, bus location notifications will only be available for the primary address.

If your student is not assigned to ride, please complete and submit the Transportation Request on the MAPS website, and a boarding card will be issued.

Following is additional HCTB information including instructions on downloading the mobile app or setting up a web-based account and Customer Support Information.  Once installed, please see the Help feature for questions regarding using the apps and tutorials.

If you have questions specific to MAPS busing, please email [email protected] or call (906) 225-5774.
Your patience is appreciated as we implement this exciting new system!
