Our Support Staff Person of The Year for 2024-2025 is Pam Cornock, a paraprofessional at Marquette Senior High School. Her nominator, Ronda Talsma, wrote, “Pam Cornock has been a part of Marquette Area Public Schools for 30 years. Currently, Pam is assigned to MSHS as a paraprofessional. Pam can read a room upon entry. She is quick to assess a situation and insert herself where most useful or needed. Pam is a genuine, hard working parapro who is well-liked and respected by all who have worked with her. She will do anything asked of her and addresses difficult situations efficiently and consistently. While most view the paraprofessional’s job as ‘academic support’, that is merely one piece of the puzzle. On any given day, at any moment, Pam may be a cheerleader, counselor, nurse, detective, problem solver, nutritionist, confidante, realist, and parental figure. She is always on the move and contemplating what may be coming next. She gives unwavering support to her students, and to our staff. Pam is a Marquette graduate and the pride she has in MSHS is clearly visible. She loves making our building a place where we all want to be as she puts students first, and looks for any way possible to help in any situation. Pam is outstanding as a paraprofessional, as a teammate, and as a human with a purpose!”
