Last week, our students had an awesome opportunity to learn about the Winton Train/ Kinder Transport and Sir Nicholas Winton, a British Stock broker and humanitarian, who saved 669 children in 1939 from Czechoslovakia currently under Nazi Germany‘s occupation. Two days later, students were able to screen the film: Letters from Brno, the story of Karen Kruger’s mother, who was one of the people on the Winton train transfer. Afterwards we got to have a Q&A session with the film producer and writer, Karen Kruger. She was amazing and showed us many documents highlighted in her film. our students asked very engaging questions and were grateful for the lessons they learned from KAREN. she even sent us an email expressing her gratitude for the experience. We truly felt like we were the lucky ones.

On Friday last week, we got the opportunity to bring our experiences about the Holocaust together in an art project with our artist in residency, Chloe Fortune, and the rest of the staff. enjoy the pictures. Our theme: Empathy ❤️
